WHO WE ARE?

The Association Mountada Al-Moukaadin in the Bekaa was founded on August 5, 1993, and officially registered under number 282/Ad. It is a non-governmental, non-profit organization dedicated to supporting persons with physical disabilities in the Bekaa region. The association brings together youth, parents, and children for whom disability is a reality and struggle—a shared destiny.

The main mission of the association is to promote the social inclusion of persons with physical disabilities through moral, psychological, and material support, enabling them to participate actively in society as citizens with rights and responsibilities. This comes against the backdrop of persistent challenges in implementing Law 220/2000 on the rights of persons with disabilities in Lebanon, which still lacks clear enforcement mechanisms.

Together we build

Believing in the right of every person with a disability to live in dignity, the Forum has undertaken several key initiatives, including:

• Building and equipping a facility that provides quality health services, including a physiotherapy center equipped with the latest machines and supervised by specialists.

• Preparing a hall equipped with audiovisual tools for lectures and awareness sessions, which is also used in winter as preparatory classes for children with physical disabilities to help them transition into mainstream schools.

• Developing a candle-making workshop and a permanent exhibition of products and event supplies, thus enhancing financial independence, productivity, and self-esteem.

• Establishing a specialized dental clinic, designed to meet the needs of persons with physical disabilities.
